The intake system modification consists of an air filter, air flow meter, intake pressure sensor, throttle body, additional air valve, idle control valve, resonance chamber, power chamber, intake manifold, etc. In fact, everyone should know that its main function is to supply clean, dry, sufficient, and stable air to the engine to meet the engine's needs, which can effectively prevent impurities and large dust particles from entering the engine. The air entering the engine combustion chamber can lead to wear and tear. Another important function of the intake system modification is to reduce noise. Intake noise not only affects the vehicle's pass-by noise but also impacts the noise inside the car, greatly affecting riding comfort. Therefore, its quality directly affects the power and noise quality, relating to the driving comfort of the vehicle. Reasonably designed noise reduction components can lower the subsystem's noise, thereby improving the overall vehicle's NVH performance. Currently, common intake system modification brands will launch dedicated factory air deflectors for specific models. Due to the low replacement cost, it offers a good cost-performance ratio. In addition, factory replacements do not involve other modifications, so their output characteristics can effectively improve intake efficiency while ensuring low torque. Of course, the effect is limited.

The intake system modification is also because the original air filter element is mainly made of dry paper material for cost considerations. This dry paper material filters dust and foreign objects through a paper filter element, allowing air to pass through the filter. If small holes on the motor allow dust to enter, you will find that over time, the surface will attract a lot of dust, creating resistance to intake and reducing intake efficiency. Therefore, it needs to be replaced frequently. If the intake system is modified, the performance air filter element is made of cotton or sponge, with special filtering oil to block dust. Due to the use of three-dimensional filtering media (interwoven cotton filter), dust will be trapped in the layers of wrapped cotton filter, and larger dust particles will be stuck to the filter surface by the oil, also serving a filtering purpose. Cotton filter elements do not lose intake performance once small holes are blocked by dust like paper filter elements do, so the efficiency of the intake system modification is higher and has a longer lifespan. Sponge filter elements have a higher dust collection capacity than cotton filter elements. The price of high-performance windshields for different vehicle models in the market is usually around several hundred yuan, making it a very cost-effective modification project.
